Here is
Henna von der Blockhutte, whom we imported as a puppy from Germany. You will
probably agree that she has turned out very well for us, and we couldn't be
happier with her all around outstanding temperament and beauty. Henna is a medium large (59 cm)
female, and is very compact and muscular. She is in excellent proportions, and
because of this she moves very strong and effortless. Henna has a dark mouth and
eyes, and magnificent mahogany colored markings. We are also impressed by
Henna's non-stop energy and working temperament. She is very confident,
friendly, and would probably work until she dropped for a ball. Henna is in
training now for her BH and Ztp, and will most likely be making her presence
known in the show ring very soon. She is proudly co-owned by Jeff McLain and
John Bernard.
We put a
great deal of research into buying Henna even before the breeding of her mother
and father took place. She is sired by Orlando
vom Hause Neubrand, owned by the Neubrand family in Germany. After
noticing the outstanding quality of Orlando's offspring at a very young age, we
contacted Oliver Neubrand to find out his recommendations for acquiring a top
puppy from Orlando. One of the first females that Oliver highly recommended was Gwendi
vom Kressbach, who was owned by the Rappold family at the
Blockhutte kennel. Oliver said that the Rappolds had planned to repeat an
earlier breeding to Orlando with Gwendi, due to the tremendous quality that they
noticed the first time around. We then contacted the Rappolds, who fortunately
agreed to sell us a pick female from the litter. Oliver himself chose Henna for
us, and the rest is history.
Orlando
has done outstanding as a stud dog in Germany. Although a great deal of his
offspring are still very young, he has already sired over 25 dogs with
schutzhund and IPO titles in Germany alone. He has also produced at least four
German/VDH Champions and Youth Champions, an Austrian Klubsieger, an Austrian
Bundessieger, and a Swiss Klub Youth Sieger. This doesn't even take into account
the many puppies that he has also sired to females living outside of Germany's
border. And remember, Orlando is of course an extremely accomplished dog
himself. On the working field, he is VPG/SchH 3, IPO 3, AD, BH. In the show
ring, he has earned the titles of German/VDH Champion and Austrian Klubsieger.
This is clearly a dog that can do it all.
Henna's
mother is a female that also can do it all at a very high level. Gwendi is VPG/SchH
3, FH 1, AD, BH titled, with an excellent high score of 286 (97-92-97).
She was also named Bayernsiegerin, and is multiple V-rated in the show ring. And
like Orlando, Gwendi has many schutzhund titled progeny as well as V-1 winners
at the show.
